Musculoskeletal PRP/PRF Therapy

INDIVIDUALIZED MUSCULOSKELETAL CARE IN GREAT NECK, NY, INCLUDING PRP/PRF, TRIGGER POINT INJECTIONS, DRY NEEDLING AND NEUROFMI, WITH ULTRASOUND GUIDANCE WHEN CLINICALLY INDICATED.

PRP/PRF Musculoskeletal Injections

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is prepared from your own blood by centrifugation to concentrate platelets within the plasma. PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) and fibrin-matrix preparations are also derived from your own blood and form a platelet-rich fibrin matrix that may be used when clinically appropriate.

In musculoskeletal care, PRP and PRF may be used for selected concerns involving joints, tendons, ligaments, muscles and related soft tissues, with ultrasound guidance used when clinically indicated. The specific preparation and treatment approach used during your visit are individualized based on your clinical assessment, treatment area and goals.

Disclaimer

PRP and PRF used for musculoskeletal injections are not FDA-approved for specific orthopedic conditions. PRP preparation systems may be FDA-cleared for specific uses, but that clearance does not constitute FDA approval of PRP or PRF for joint, tendon, ligament or other musculoskeletal injections. Clinical response varies and results are not guaranteed.

Trigger Point Injections, Dry Needling & NeuroFMI

Trigger point injections, dry needling and NeuroFMI are individualized needle-based treatments used for selected musculoskeletal and myofascial concerns, including muscle tightness, trigger points, fascial restriction, protective muscle guarding, stiffness and restricted mobility.

NeuroFMI (NeuroFascial MicroInjection Therapy) is RBM’s descriptive term for a fine-needle approach that may incorporate superficial myofascial needling and small, distributed amounts of preservative-free lidocaine when clinically appropriate. Treatment areas and techniques are selected based on physical examination, movement findings and clinical assessment, with ultrasound guidance used when clinically indicated.

Disclaimer

Treatment is individualized based on clinical assessment and may vary by patient. Individual response varies, and results are not guaranteed.

Red and near-infrared (NIR) light therapy may be used as an adjunct when clinically appropriate.
