PRP/PRF Musculoskeletal

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is the liquid platelet-concentrated fraction of your own blood after centrifugation.  PRF/fibrin-matrix preparation refers to a platelet-derived fibrin matrix that may be prepared from your blood product when clinically appropriate.  PRF terminology and preparation methods vary across systems and published studies.  The exact preparation used at your visit, PRP, PRF/fibrin-matrix preparation, or both, is selected based on your clinical presentation and treatment goals and documented in your chart.

Disclaimer

Use of PRP and PRF for orthopedic injection, including joints, tendons, ligaments and related structures, is considered off-label use of an FDA-cleared device.  Off-label use of FDA-cleared devices is legal and common in medical practice when performed under the clinical judgment of a licensed clinician.  Published peer-reviewed literature exists for PRP across several orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions; however, PRP and PRF are not FDA-approved for these specific orthopedic injection indications, and clinical outcomes can vary.

Treatment may follow with Red and Near-infrared (NIR) Light therapy
